Listening Session: リスニング・セッション
Listening Session: Possible Spaces invites you to bring and share your
field recordings with us at our next event on Saturday, October 20th. If
you would like to participate in the Listening Session, please bring
your sound file on a cdr or on a device with an audio output (ie. ipod,
recorder, mp3 player, etc.), and please check in at the door at 6pm. If

Possible Spaces is a forum for the presentation of phonographic works
including straight field recordings, soundscape compositions, solo and
collective improvisations. It attempts to engage the audience in an
investigation of sound as art, our relationship to our sound environment
and an awareness of acoustic ecology. The importance of human hearing
is often overshadowed by our current visual preoccupation. Possible
Spaces attempts to help reconnect us with and retrain us to decipher the
information provided by our sound environment.
「可能空間」はフィールド・レコーディング、サウンドスケープ、そして複数名の音楽家による即興演奏の発表の場です。アートとして音を読み解いていこうとするこの試みは、環境音と私たちの関係性や“音のエコロジー”を認識させることにより、聴衆の耳を引きつけるでしょう。聴覚の重要性は、視覚情報にばかり気をとられるあまりしばしば軽視されがちです。「Possible Spaces」は環境音より取り出された情報の再認識を促す概念を紹介します。
